Boston, MA – Following the election of current State Representative Linda Dorcena Forry to the State Senate, Dan Cullinane, Dorcena Forry’s Senate Campaign Field Director, has announced that he will be seeking the 12th Suffolk seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
“Over the last few weeks, I have been overwhelmed by the encouragement and support I have received from residents in communities across the district. Today, I am officially announcing my candidacy for State Representative of the 12th Suffolk District.”
“To the hard working people of Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park and Milton, I pledge to be a tireless and transparent advocate in the State House and a constant and responsive presence in the community,” Cullinane said. “I seek this incredible opportunity to serve because I believe in the potential of what can be achieved when dedicated people from diverse backgrounds join together under the common goal of bettering our communities.”
“I look forward to meeting with residents throughout the district in the weeks ahead to discuss how we can work together to continue to make Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and Milton great neighborhoods in which to live, work and raise a family.”
Cullinane spent much of the last month meeting with community leaders and attending numerous neighborhood association meetings throughout the district to directly listen to the concerns facing residents across the 12th Suffolk District.
To date, Cullinane has deposited more than $15,000 in donations in a campaign account and has more than $7,000 in outstanding commitments.
Prior to serving as Linda Dorcena Forry’s Field Director on the State Senate campaign, Cullinane worked as a Fundraising Manager at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), Boston’s largest anti-poverty agency, where he also served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2012. He has worked as Director of Constituent Services for State Representative Martin J. Walsh and as Communications Director for former Boston City Councillor Maureen Feeney.
Dan is a life-long resident of Dorchester where he lives with his wife Emily Torres-Cullinane. He serves as the Vice-President of the Cedar Grove Civic Association and as a member of the Ward 16 Democratic Committee.
