Dan Cullinane

Boston, MA – In the special election to succeed State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry as State Representative, Dan Cullinane has received the endorsements of six additional labor unions in his bid for the 12th Suffolk District seat.

The latest unions endorsing the Dan Cullinane campaign are:

  1. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 2222, located in the 12th Suffolk District representing thousands of telecommunications workers in the greater Boston area.
  2. International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local 6, located in Dorchester.
  3. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 127
  4. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Boston Mailers’ Local 1
  5. United Steel Workers Local 5696
  6. United Steel Workers District 4, Sub-District 3

These six unions join Sheet Metal Workers Local 17, which has already endorsed Cullinane’s bid for the 12th Suffolk seat. Sheet Metal Workers Local 17 represents more than 2,000 skilled trades-people in the Boston area and is headquartered in the 12th Suffolk District.

Mary White of Teamsters Boston Mailers’ Local 1 expressed her support of the Dan Cullinane campaign, “Throughout his career Dan has demonstrated that he is pro-worker and pro-community. We know that he will bring a fresh voice and strong leadership and the citizens of the 12th Suffolk District will be well served with Dan as their representative.”

Cullinane expressed his gratitude for the support, “I am deeply grateful to have earned the endorsement of the hard working men and women of each of these labor unions. As a former Fair Labor Investigator in the Attorney General’s Office, I have fought for workers and understand the challenges organized labor confronts each day. As State Representative, I will stand with labor and will use my experience as an investigator to be an advocate for the Commonwealth’s workforce.”

Dan Cullinane served as Linda Dorcena Forry’s Field Director on her successful State Senate campaign. Prior to that, Cullinane worked as a Fundraising Manager at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), Boston’s largest anti-poverty agency, where he also served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2012. He has worked as Director of Constituent Services for State Representative Martin J. Walsh and as Communications Director for former Boston City Councilor Maureen Feeney.

Dan is a life-long resident of Dorchester where he lives with his wife Emily Torres-Cullinane. He serves as the Vice-President of the Cedar Grove Civic Association and as a member of the Ward 16 Democratic Committee.
